Nancy Braithwaite, clarinetist

I am an American-Dutch clarinetist specializing in chamber music. 

Here you can learn more about my ensembles, our repertoire and Kromme Rijn Concerten, the concert series I present in Bunnik, The Netherlands.

In 2014,  our  Rietveld Ensemble established a chamber music series in Utrecht. Today, we present nine concerts each season, collaborating with a diverse range of outstanding musicians and guest artists. 

​

A central part of my artistic  work is  collaborating with living composers and bringing their music to audiences through performances and recordings.

 

My debut CD, "To Paradise for Onions: Songs and Chamber Works of Edith Hemenway", was released by Etcetera Records in December 2018.

 

In 2025 , Etcetera Records released my second CD, "Wonderings and other Revelations"  featuring works by Dutch and American composers with whom I have enjoyed long-standing artistic collaborations: Carlos Micháns, Edith Hemenway, Oane Wierdsma, Thomas Oboe Lee and Willem Wander van Nieuwkerk.

For 33 years, I taught clarinet and chamber music at Codarts, the conservatory of Rotterdam, in The Netherlands. 

​

I am proud to be an Uebel Clarinet Artist and a Silverstein Inspiring Pro Artist.
